How we choose

This page exists so you can check the reasoning instead of taking the list on faith. It is also the page Google looks for when it decides whether a shopping site is written by someone with something to say.

What gets considered

• Things I have used, or that someone I know well has used long enough to have an opinion on.
• Products with enough history that the reviews are not all from one month.
• Price points where a mistake is annoying rather than expensive.

What gets rejected

• Listings with a review pattern that does not look organic.
• Unbranded products that appear under six different names.
• Anything I cannot describe a specific reason to buy.

Photography

Every image on this site is shot or designed here. Product photographs from retailer listings are not republished, both because the licences do not allow it and because it makes every affiliate site look identical.

Updates

Guides are revisited on a schedule. The date on each post is the date it was last checked, not the date it was first written.
